Currently, in Rosewood Hotel its elegant Mirror Room is offering an Art Afternoon Tea which includes a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and loose leaf teas accompanied by art-inspired pastries, created by Mark Perkins. His latest creations are inspired by five of the most iconic contemporary artists currently represented in London, including Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, Alexander Calder, Banksy and Mark Rothko.
From the pictures, the splatter paint with a girl holding a red balloon pays homage to Banksy, yellow with brown polka dots a la Kusama and colourful dots decoration pays tribute to Hirst. The traditional scones and sandwiches are delicious, but the five artistically-inclined miniature pastries are so idiosyncratic which is what really make this place worth it.
My personal favourites are the Kusama and Hirst inspired pastries. They are light and fruity! Banksy has a stronger taste so I would recommend tasting it last!
