Located on the 35th floor of The Shard, Ting offers a traditional English option and an Asian-inspired afternoon tea. Personally I feel that the asian version of afternoon tea is lighter, healthier and all-together tastier.
The Mango rice paper roll (my favourite from the savouries) is light and refreshing, then there is the Taro Spring roll, Beef Rendang brioche buns, Crab tart, and Beetroot cured salmon. The scones are fresh, and paired with the gooseberry elderflower jam is a welcome change to the traditional strawberry jam. Traditional sweets (top tier) are spiked with more exotic flavours such as the pink guava mousse that has a passionfruit centre. Sponge cake is coloured with pandan and coconut. Choux is infused with Vietnamese coffee (perhaps try this last, as it has a strong flavour) and a delicious gooseberry tart. To top to all off, the view of London from the restaurant is incredible!
I would recommend trying the White apricot tea, it is different and goes very well with the savouries.
